落 (Luò)
Annie Kathryn Lowdermilk
shì shéi cóng yè zhuài xià yī lǚ guāng
Who pulled a ray of light down from the night?
jiāng nà yǐ chén jì de xīn rǎo luàn
Disturbing the heart that was already silent
míng yuè gāo xuán wēi fēng yǔ xīng chuān
The bright moon hangs high, breeze and stars thread through
tīng āi tàn hóng yán
Listening to the sighs of a beautiful woman
suí liǎo liǎo hóng chén huà zuò lán shān
Following the mortal world, turning into the waning light
cǎo zhǎng yīng fēi cháng mìng luò
Grass grows and orioles fly, long life fades
ài liǎng liǎng sān sān sī què zǒng cháng cháng
Love is bits and pieces, but longing is constant
sué liú nián piāo bó
Drifting with the fleeting years
huā kāi huā luò rì shēng rì mò
Flowers bloom and fade, sun rises and sets
zhēn qíng rú yān bō
True feelings are like misty waves
rén zhǐ zhī jì mò
People only know loneliness
shéi zài hu yīn guǒ
Who cares about cause and effect?
cháo qǐ cháo luò yuè yuán yuè mò
Tide rises and falls, moon waxes and wanes
kàn pò bù shuō pò
Seeing through it but not exposing it
tài dān bó yǔ shéi néng shuō
Too fragile, to whom can I speak?
